The failure to convert possession into points when with the wind early on was decisive when the visitors scored twice on the break in the second half. The second half saw more of the same, with a failure to penetrate again apparent after good build-up play. Paul Armstrong, facing a lengthy ban if convicted for GBH in a warm-up game, showed some nice touches but he and Taylor could not deliver the killer ball. Soon Globe broke at pace and their right winger showed how to do it by getting in behind Accies' defence and cutting the ball back for the tap-in. And after 70 minutes they scored the winner after Accies helped out by being keener to lunge for the ball than stand up and block the shot. There was still plenty of time for an equaliser but belief had drained from the home side. Matters were not helped when Morsy injured his knee while jumping up and down in fury at a refereeing decision, and Rob Welsh showed how valuable he is on the right wing by proving that he can't kick it with his left. Accies did not play badly in this game and if matches were won on possession or corners awarded then it would have been a rout. We need to develop more of a cutting edge around the opposition box if we are going to avoid more frustrating encounters like this one. Saturday 10th January all postponed.
