Proposed Accies Club Tie The idea of an Accies club tie was discussed during 2000 and 2001 and eventually floundered at the alter of apathy. We got as far as proposing various designs for the Accies club tie as below (all thumbnails you can click on to expand), which we'd expect to cost about £10.00. The problem is there would be an initial outlay of about £350 to get a batch of 50 produced. The biggest question is whether to use a logo, and if so in what form. The logo in option 1 is simply too small to be able to include "Academicals", hence the compromise at the bottom. The logo in option 4 is large enough, being sited in a panel just below the knot. But there is the question of whether people would want to wear a club tie to work, and if so would you wear it if it included the logo? As far as colours are concerned it's basically the black and azure blue with a touch of white trimming - essentially the "club colours" used on our kit. Five options are outlined below, feedback on preferred options is welcomed to danny@uclacademicals.co.uk Option 1 - black tie with multiple logos - too small to include "Academicals" except at the bottom.
Option 2 - no logo, equal width black and azure blue stripes. This tie could also have UCL Academicals emblazoned across the bottom in the fashion of option 1.
Option 3 - no logo, one band wider than the other (also possible with blue as the wider band). This tie could also have UCL Academicals emblazoned across the bottom in the fashion of option 1.
Option 4 - black and azure blue tie with a single motif using the proper club logo. Option 5 - identical tie except without the club logo.
